Jury rigged leather armor by emptysamurai Jury rigged leather armor by emptysamurai
my jacket work in progress. it's made from 3 jackets, a pair of chaps, 2 pairs of boots, and a piece of chain maille lingerie. much of it is simply laid out at the moment as I stitch it together. the majority of the liner is quilted together from scraps of other clothing.

this is my jacket for Wasteland Weekend. supposed to have a sort of cowpunk rogue trader feel to the overall costume once done. the black sleeve is removable to be a t shirt length sleeve.  making one for each arm

Very glad you dig it! The sleeves are a work in progress. I have two t shirt length sleeves with full length sleeves I pieced togeter to fasten over them should I desire full length sleeves. also fyi, not rivets, but rather studs for leather.

I designed the patches and she is selling them without permission so I would rather not give her info out.

Then can I buy them from you? I really need them or I will be forced to have Butler patches produce them for me meaning 25 patches of the same type at a time. And I really cannot afford that >.<! Its interesting, you say you designed them? I am curious how since some of them are almost exact duplicates of the copyrighted material from the game, Not trying to be offensive here or rude I am just very curious :) These patches are amazing items! I would rather buy them from you rather than a major corporation. Please let me know if you are able to assist me. Thank you.

how do you think I designed the labels I have? the images in the game are VERY low resolution and I used the low res texture files to interpret the images from the game to reality by using my skills as a graphic designer. if you feel that you MUST order these I suppose that's what you have to do, but they NEVER existed in the series at ANY point. I just wanted custom patches for my Wasteland Weekend gear so I designed them and had an associate of mine make them. do you ask fans of star wars, battestar gaalactica, or any other franchise how they "designed" graphic art representations of patches, screens, labels, etc that THEY replicate from screens under the same context (implying that they somehow didn't do it as a high res vrsion due to it's nature as a low res image already existing on a screen?)

Why is it you question whether, or HOW I designed THESE but the entire army of templates that look identical to copyrighted material from the series was below notice for such a question? saying you don't mean to offend AFTER in the context you used it it seems to me not unlike when someone says "With all due respect" but really means "This statement and or question is highly disrespectful."

So, not trying to be offensive or rude but I designed them so they would be the only ones and there are already more than one. So, no I won't sell you duplicates of these.

I am sorry if you mistook my purpose behind my statement, I am not well in social situations at times. I am sorry if my curiosity and strive to improve my designs, options and technology came out rather offensive, I was unsure how to state my question or what I wanted,  And for the copyrights I was referring to the words and symbols, I figured you would have had to receive permission to use the content. What I am striving for is I wish to find FOA and BOS patches, or create them myself. I admire your work a lot and I would never misrepresent or steal it. All I was trying to state was i needed assistance. If you cannot assist me that is perfectly acceptable and hardly anything offends me unless you bash my work ha so your perfectly alright ^^! Perhaps in the future we could critique or discuss project ideas.
You do great work and I love your creativity!
Keep up the great work man :)

no permission is needed to make fan art as far as I know, so that should take a load off your mind and what I do to replicate things as far as in game logos and such is a combination between hand done digital reproductions with scratch made lettering or tracking down the fonts originally used as well as finding clipart images used or making those by hand as well. I was trying not to get offended and it's not really something one has control over. I would be glad to help you with your foa patch and BOS patch but the Nuka patch is one that was supposed to be the only one.

that is my pipe. weed is legal here in Washington state. glad you like the jacket. the right sleeve is almost finished being stitched together and I'm laying the left one out to extend the half sleeve a few inches. I have no pattern and no idea what I'm doing EVERY step of the way on this jacket.

I'm trying to figure out what to do with my NCR uniform to give it more Wasteland ''spirit''. No ideas except holles and dirt yet.

Dmitri has some pretty good permanent grime tutorial stuff, also think about war trophies from the fallout universe. Khan scalps, ears or teeth on necklaces, shell casing handles on knives, or make a theater made style combat knife. lots of ways to add some wasteland to it.

Yes, I saw the tutorials from this guy, great stuff. I don't think that scalps and teeth are great idea for an NCR outfit, but you gave me a right direction, thx.

well, depends. American soldiers during Vietnam did exactly that kind of thing and the whole massacre of the great khans at bitter springs smacks of old world manifest destiny style empire building. the trophies are really something stemming from the character you choose to portray so I can dig whatever you end up doing. keep me updated if you add things to the costume?

Naaah, I love that paranoid feeling when I'm buying weed from some strange guy, thinking about the police etc. I guess that's the secret of the good postapoc prop - chaos without pattern.

I was always the guy selling it. tyhis means I can go legit. I'm almost 30 now and I'm too old to look over my shoulder all the time now. it gets tiring.

I thought building a jacket from scraps with no pattern to sew from was a pretty good way to get the look I wanted.
